Here’s Little More About Me and why I love crafting…
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who loved to doodle, draw and dream…maybe you can guess who it is…yes, me! My love for crafting and creating really did start when I was a young girl.
An early memory of one of my first crafts was at Christmastime. It started with the hope to make gifts for my family members. I had done crafts with my grandma and mom but this was my first time to make something on my own.
I went to the hardware store to look around. There was this long one-inch-wide plastic faux wood that had a peel-off side that looked like a good fit for my gift idea.
I cut it into 8 and half inch lengths and attached them to letterhead paper on the top and bottom and added a string on top for hanging.
Writing quotes on them was my next goal. I was in 3rd grade at that time and we were learning calligraphy using calligraphy fountain pens. I found quotes that applied to each person and wrote their quote on each one.
The one I remember the most was for my grandpa. He was an early riser, so I wrote on his, “The Early Bird Gets His Own Breakfast!” He loved it so much he hung it by his recliner! I have been creating and sharing ever since that Christmas!
I’m now a wife, mother and grandmother and I still love to create! A favorite quote of mine is “I just want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares.”
